Friends with Causes was established in November, 2012 as a charitable giving network of friends in Los Angeles, California. Throughout the year, potluck dinner parties are given at a private home in place of paying for a restaurant dinner. The monies that would have been given to restaurants are instead presented to the designated charity of the night. A representative from the charity is invited to give a short presentation, and then joins the group for dinner to continue the conversation
